Led by Staff Engineer Mike Krawczyk, a team at McCormick Stevenson holds monthly Analysis Meetings during which analysis techniques and software applications are discussed to improve the use of applications as well as to further educate the team. These meetings are an excellent, informal method to share analysis tips and tricks, discuss best-practices, and learn new analysis-related topics. The most recent topic for discussion was the use of solid versus shell elements in FEA. One of the MCCST team members also performed a CFD analysis on the classic “cow in the wind” model in order to teach the team about Ansys Fluent software. Below are some renderings that were shared during the meeting.
